This painting is based loosely on the Annandale Ramp, a local halfpipe I used to skate back in the 1980s. A-Town, as it was called, was the gathering place for skateboarders for miles around. Set back in the woods just far enough from the road to not call too much attention, it was an ideal location for skateboarding and hanging out with friends. You'd never know who was going to show up. Sometimes I'd get to see some incredible skaters performing at their best. In this painting, I've tried to capture the essence of the experience of a great day at the ramp.
